Once Upon a Dukedom Series by Lorraine Heath

April 2021

I have been a fan of Lorraine Heath's for decades. In fact since her first published book.

She often has series, and will link charcters to other series, and her new Once Upon a Dukedom series is no exception. In fact, the hero of the first story in this series, Scoundrel Of My Heart, was introduced in his sister's story, which was the last story in the previous series, Beauty Tempts the Beast. And a mystery introduced in her story is a driving factor for this story. There is a third sibling who I also hope will have his story soon.

I asked Ms Heath if I could ask three of the charcters each a question, and she agreed. The three characters are her newest hero Griff, his heroine Kathryn, and his brother Marcus. Below is this month's 3 Q&A.

3 Q&A

KRC: Griff - You have gained a talent for learning secrets. Is this a skill you had always had, or was it something you developed as a necessity after your family's scandal?

Reply from Griff: I’ve always had a penchant for eavesdropping—hence the reason I knew Lady Kathryn had no interest in marrying a spare. But I did develop it further after the family's scandal because knowing secrets can be a powerful weapon - or at least the ability to give the impression one knows secrets.

KRC: Kathryn - The Duke of Kingsland requested bridal candidates to submit a list of their best qualities. If you were to do the same for a groom, what attributes would you seek?

Reply from Kathryn: First and foremost, I would want a man with the ability to love me as I am.I also prefer one who is a gentleman in society but a scoundrel in the bedchamber.

KRC: Marcus - Many would assume you had lived an easy life, confident in your place in society and your belief that your future was secured. Now you are risking your life to investigate the details of your father's crime. Did your upbringing help you at all for the challenges you face during these dangerous times?

Reply from Marcus: My upbringing left me ill-prepared for the challenges that awaited me. Hence the reason I’ve had a time of it determining what or who prompted my father to travel the path he did. However, I have discovered that I am well suited to the shadows and what occurs within them. Whether or not I ever step fully out of them remains to be seen.

KRC: And that concludes my 3 Q&A for April. You can read the Once Upon a Dukedom series without reading the Sins For All Seasons, but if you are iterested in it, the first in the series is Scoundrel Of My Heart

My Personal Disclaimer

Boy Meets Girl, They Fall in Love, and the two of them live Happily Ever After. This is the content for any book I believe is a true Romance Genre novel. The books that I recommend, or have reviews posted for will follow that format, unless I note otherwise. Granted we may know the outcome of a Romance Genre Novel, but it is the journey the characters take that is the reason we read these books. The Happily Ever After doesn't mean they're all vampires... Just means that the future is open to them, even if it is set 500 years in the past - we don't need to know their final chapter in life. At times I have have Recommend Reads by visitors to this site - I cannot guarantee that they meet my criteria for a Romance Genre Novel.
