Tails Of Love

June 2009

Tails of Love is the newest collaboration organized by NYT Bestselling Author Lori Foster. It is available from Berkley Sensation, and, according to Lori's website, "All Author and Agent proceeds from sales of the book will benefit the AAF - Animal Adoption Foundation - a no-kill animal shelter in Hamilton, Ohio."

Among the ten authors contributing to this anthology is Dianne Castell, with whom Lori hosts the Readers and Writers Event (also known as The Get-Together and The June Event) in Cincinnati each June. Over 300 people - readers, writers, industry professionals - are scheduled for the 2009 event, which is being held this week, June 5-7.

At this event, in addition to sharing a love of books, everyone participates in various fundraising efforts to support charities, including donated baskets. Since 2007, Lori has organized a book with a portion of the proceeds going to a charity. The first book was a cookbook with recipes turned in by authors and readers (myself included!). The title was The Write Ingredients and benefited the Troop Fund. The cookbook was published by Samhain Publishing as both print and an ebook.

The Power of Love, from Berkley Sensation, was released last year. It was written to support The Battered Women's Shelter of Cincinnati. This is quite an appropriate charity, as the stories focus on women overcoming various forms of abuse or neglect. I had the distinct pleasure of being able to read this anthology for review. (Please check out my reviews!)

I was thrilled to be able to read Tails of Love for review. Listed below are each of the stories and the corresponding link for the review.

Lori Foster - Man's Best Friend
Stella Cameron - A Knotty Tail
Kate Angell - Norah's Arc
Dianne Castell - The Pursuit of Happiness
Ann Christopher - Atticus Saves Lisa
Marcia James - Rescue Me
Donna MacMeans - Lord Hairy
Sarah McCarty - Danny's Dog
Patricia Sargeant - Scaredy Cat
Sue-Ellen Welfonder - A Man, A Woman, and Haggis

This year, for the first time, all ten authors are scheduled to be at The Get-Together, where I will buy my copy. Hopefully, I will be able to get both my copy and the ARC signed by all of the authors. With Lori's permission, I have made the ARC available for a prize this month. As long as you are a member of my Yahoo Announcement Group, you will be automatically entered to win. Certain mailing restrictions apply. Please review the Announcement Newsletter and Contest Page for further information.

Welcome

I truly enjoy sharing my love of reading. This site was started to allow me to share some of my favorite books. I hope that if you look around and find that you agree with some of my selections (see my reviews), that you will return and hopefully find new authors. I plan on having periodic "Recommended Reads" lists that will include books I recommend, as well as suggestions by visitors to this site. I will also keep you up-to-date on different upcoming events, special offers, etc.

As you look around, I'm still learning my way around HTML, etc. If you see any errors, typos, please e-mail me.

My Personal Disclaimer

Boy Meets Girl, They Fall in Love, and the two of them live Happily Ever After. This is the content for any book I believe is a true Romance Genre novel. The books that I recommend, or have reviews posted for will follow that format, unless I note otherwise. Granted we may know the outcome of a Romance Genre Novel, but it is the journey the characters take that is the reason we read these books. The Happily Ever After doesn't mean they're all vampires... Just means that the future is open to them, even if it is set 500 years in the past - we don't need to know their final chapter in life. At times I have have Recommend Reads by visitors to this site - I cannot guarantee that they meet my criteria for a Romance Genre Novel.
