Wolf Rebel

SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team Series - Book 10

By Paige Tyler

Sourcebooks Casablanca - December 2019

Paranormal Romance

Rachel Bennett had learned how to keep secrets. After responding to a call at a cemetery where she had encountered a young lady being attacked by a knife wielding clown, she too had been injured, and then become a werewolf. Not your everyday occurrence, but luckily for her, she had found a pack of other alpha werewolves that she had been able to join as a fellow member of the Dallas SWAT team.

So, the fact that she was a werewolf was an obvious secret she kept from non-werewolves. But there was more, things that she couldn't share even with her pack. Like her nightmares. And the fact that she knew that the newest werewolf in town was a former werewolf hunter. And the little fact that she might be going crazy.

Knox Lawson had made a few bad impromptu decisions lately. After a fellow SEAL had died, he had quit and joined a group of hunters thinking he was ridding the world of evil, only to learn that the team themselves were the monsters. He couldn't regret joining them, because that was how he'd first seen Rachel. Granted intervening events had led him to become a werewolf, but now he was in Dallas, had a new job, and things just might be progressing with Rachel.

If only there wasn’t someone trying to kill his client, the fact that he had to keep his past as a hunter a secret from the entire SWAT team, and maybe, just maybe, there was more to Rachel's nightmare than memories.

Wolf Rebel is a twist of a romance between a werewolf hiding her PTSD and a reformed werewolf hunter turned werewolf. I enjoyed the interaction between Rachel and Knox. He was the perfect hero, determined to help Rachel work through the terror of the memories of the clown, and with Rachel to protect an assistant district attorney and her family from someone she was prosecuting. Fans of Paige Tyler’s SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series will be intrigued to see how the former hunter integrates, or doesn't, with the SWAT team. After the last story, it is obvious this series is going in a new direction, however, this story was much creepier than I ever read or watch.
