It was finally time for the filming of a television cooking competition show. Tassie Drake's two friends were bitter rivals and contestants, which made her both excited and nervous for the outcome if either of them won. Instead, she should have been worried of another death.
During the filming, one of the judges died from anaphylactic shock. Luckily Tassie's new detective friend, Jack Sterling, was there to take charge of the situation, but nothing could be done to save Juniper.
With her little dog Baxter, Tassie wanted to once again help find a murderer. Knowing that her two friends might appear to be suspects, Tassie wanted to ensure the real killer was, or killers were, found. Luckily Jack agreed she was an asset and soon they were looking at suspects. As an internet influecer, Juniper had many enemies, and so the list was large.
And it appeared they might have Tassie in their sights.
Cupcakes and Corpses was a fun cozy mystery with suspense, a touch of romance, and dogs. Tassie is a fun heroine eager to investigate, but not without caution. It was fun seeing the tentative first steps as she and Jake start their romance. The cast of characters were engaging and there is a bit of mystery that hopefully gets resolved in the next story in Paige Tyler's Pupcakes and Peril series. I look forward to reading it.
