One Wicked Winter Night

Short Story on Seduction on a Snowy Night Anthology

Historical Romance

Lady Diana Lawrence had returned home to England. She had travelled throughout Europe and had been living in India when she realized she wanted to be home. She would miss her friends, but wanted to be with family. She had left years earlier after a failed romance. Although she knew their paths might cross, she never expected it to happen so quickly.

When Anthony Raines, Duke of Castleton, allowed his sisters to cajole him into attending a costume ball, he never expects to face his past. Diana was just as enchanting and intriguing as before. Years may have passed, and they may have both changed, but the chemistry between them burned just as bright. However, Diana's reticence when it came to a relationship with him remained.

One Wicked Winter Night was a reunion romance with fascinating felines and a distinctly independent heroine. Diana's experiences abroad would not allow her to meekly settle for any hero. She needed someone of equal will who appreciated her exactly as she was. Anthony fit that role as hero perfectly. I enjoyed the cats and their "breeds" and both Anthony and Diana's interactions with their respective families. Based on multiple references of past events, there was a strong indication this is part of a series.
