Rebecca McIntosh had grown up in the small town of Bramley Hollow but had longed to escape. She adored her grandmother who had raised her after her mother had died. She loved the diner her grandmother had run and spending time with her best friend. She may have had a crush on Cort Adams, but she'd been the brain and he had been the football player she'd tutored.
Once she'd graduated, she left and made her life in Toronto. But she had to return. It had been a year since her grandmother's death. A year since she'd made a failed pass at Cort. She intended to do the necessary renovations to the diner, sell it, avoid Cort, and return to her life.
The problem of course was that she couldn’t avoid Cort in a small town like Bramley Hollow. Especially since he was the expert at the type of renovations she needed. That was fine. She could be professional around him. After all, it was only thirty days. And then she was returning. To Toronto.
Why did she have to keep reminding herself of that?
Something About September is a romance of homecoming and facing the past. I enjoyed watching Rebecca revisit her past and learn some hidden truths. I found Cort's relationship with his son to be sweet, especially their care of the pumpkin. I wouldn't mind returning to Bramley Hollow again.
