Paranormal Romance

It's Christmastime, and they've all settled in at the Sleigh Bells Inn in the Christmas themed town of Christmastown. What many don't know, is the history of the inn. Before it became the inn, there had been a fire, and one section of the inn used to be the town morgue. Now three couples come together during the holidays, with a little help of the resident ghosts.

Sydney needed to break up with Tony. She didn't want to, but there was no way they could continue their songwriting partnership. He had been her best friend for years. In fact, their families had been friends, but Sydney had fallen in love with Tony. She had decided that either they moved their relationship to the next level, or she would have to move on. Then, as if she didn't have enough problems with Tony, Elvis appears. Or rather, the ghost of a gay older Elvis impersonator appears and decides to help Sydney with her love life.

Tony didn't understand why Syd was acting the way she was. They had a great relationship, and he didn't want to ruin their friendship by having sex. His own parents' disastrous marriage was proof of what could happen.

Blue Suede Christmas was a very entertaining best friends romance. First, I absolutely adored "El". He has such a big heart, and is a true romantic. Then there is the fact that I'm always a sucker for a best friends romance. It is so obvious that Sydney and Tony are in love with each other. Blue Suede Christmas is a short story in The Morgue the Merrier Anthology which includes 3 stories, plus a bonus. The other stories are Dead Certain by Rosemary Laurey, Holly in His Heart by Dianne Castell and the bonus story Thank You, Santa! by Karen Kelley.
