The Danger of Desire

Sinful Suitors Series - Book 3

By Sabrina Jeffries

Pocket - December 2016

Historical Romance

Warren Corry, Marquess of Knightford, would do about anything for his cousin Clarissa. When she asked him to look into her friend Miss Delia Trevor, because she feared Delia might be in trouble, there was no way he could refuse. Especially after he had failed in preventing harm from coming to Clarissa years earlier. From the moment he meets Delia, he knows she is trouble. For herself and for him. She was obviously lying about something, and he intended to find out what.

Delia had chosen her path and nothing would deter her - she was intent on finding out who her brother's murderer was. Oh, the scoundrel hadn't committed the final act, but his actions had definitely led to Reynold's death. A man with a specific tattoo, in a specific location. It wasn't much to go on, but there was one more piece of evidence. The man must have cheated, because she and Reynold did not lose at cards, and only a cheat could have led to their ruin.

Delia's plan was simple, find the tattooed man. She did what she could in polite society, but it was only after dark that she dared enter the gambling den as a young man to put her skills at work. If only Warren didn't come to thwart her at every turn.

The Danger of Desire was a passionate romance between two strong willed individuals. Warren is determined to keep Delia safe, and Delia is equally determined to reveal the scoundrel responsible for so much damage. They are at odds from the moment they meet, and it was entertaining watching them spar. But it is equally obvious they care for one another. I enjoyed watching as they came together, while also slowly moving in on their quarry. The Danger of Desire can be read independent of the Sinful Suitors series, although it is more enjoyable having met Warren, Clarissa and others previously.
