Expecting the Earl's Baby

Summer Weddings Continuity Series - Book 1

Harlequin Romance #4468

By Jessica Gilmore

Harlequin - April 2015

Contemporary Romance

Expecting the Earl's Baby is the first story in the Summer Weddings continuity series - a series by different authors. The three stories in the series are: Expecting the Earl's Baby by Jessica Gilmore, A Bride for the Runaway Groom by Scarlet Wilson, and Falling for the Bridesmaid by Sophie Pembroke.

Daisy Huntingdon-Cross may have been born into rock royalty, but she had been burned by the publicity. She acknowledged that the media would always be part of her life, and she had learned how to limit the exposure. She worked as a wedding photographer, and lived a quiet life. Then one evening she stayed late after a wedding at Hawksley Castle and Seb invited her back in when she realized the lovely picturesque snowfall had turned into a hazard.

Six weeks later, and Daisy was back at Hawksley Castle. Imagine her surprise when she learns Seb who she thought worked at the castle was actually Sebastian Beresford, Earl of Holgate. Historian, lecturer, author, Seb was famous in his own right, and Daisy found herself in a precarious position. She had always dreamt about her perfect wedding, from the wedding itself, to the favors, to the honeymoon. Now she was pregnant and her child's future depended on her decision on a loveless marriage. After all, an illegitimate child would not inherit the title.

Expecting the Earl's Baby was a sweet romance between two people whose attraction had been instantaneous and combustible, learning that respect, affection and admiration are just as important, if not more, when it comes to love. Daisy and Seb are so focused on the fact that they are marrying for their child that they start to lose sight of all the qualities that they feel for one another. And it is really those qualities that leads them to a strong happily-ever-after love. I really enjoyed their story and would like to read the other stories in this continuity series.
