Contemporary Romance
Leo Brewster intended to finish the legal paperwork for his inheritance and immediately head back to LA. From the moment he stepped into the bookstore, his plans were interrupted by a woman walking a cat on a leash. Who walked a cat? Apparently someone intent on poking her nose into what was now his business. Or would be once he met the stipulations for his inheritance that he needed to stay in Pecan Corner for about a month, learn about the town, and find some books in the most disarrayed bookstore he had ever seen. Luckily, he had met the perfect person to help him with his quest.
Via Dalton had happily resettled back in her home town of Pecan Corner, Ohio. She had opened Pawsitive Vibes, a cat cafe which shared a building with Second Chapter Books. She had become friends with the bookstore owner and was even able to buy her half of the building, which included her apartment across from his. She was still grieving his loss when she found a stranger entering the bookstore. She was saddened to learn of his intent to sell because she wasn't able to purchase the store. She was willing to help Leo clean up the bookstore and learn about the area. He stated he wanted info for selling, but her goal was to make him fall in love with the area. Her Autumn Bucket List was the perfect solution.
As long as they just didn't fall in love with each other.
Autumn at the Cat Cafe is a perfect fall read, especially for cat lovers. I enjoyed the antics of the various cats and learning just who was the Naughty Cat of the Week, and why. The bucket list was full of entertaining activities that readers might want to add to their fall activities. Via was a lively heroine with a fun family. I found it interesting as Leo learned about his uncle and Pecan Corner, but was annoyed that he didn't tell Via the complete truth of why he stayed. He also makes a choice at the end that I found rather unheroic. Overall Autumn at the Cat Cafe was an entertaining read and hope to read more stories by this author.
