Holding Strong is the second story in Lori Foster's new Ultimate series. This new series is tied to multiple series. Primarily, it is closely tied to her most recent series, Love Undercover. However, the fighters in this new series are part of the SBC, and so the stories are also tied to her SBC Fighter series. If you want to read everything in order, start with SBC, then read Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series, which ties into Love Undercover. Then there is Hard Knocks, the prequel to this new series.
Denver Lewis might want a certain woman, but he didn't want a flirt. And if there was one thing he could say about Cherry Peyton, was that she was always talking to the guys. Flirting. So he turned her away, again and again, until the one time he didn't, and learned that once he had her, he didn't want to let her go.
Cherry's ego may have been bruised by Denver's rebuffs, but circumstances in life had made her strong. Strong enough to fight for what she wanted, and she wanted Denver. Coming from a troubled background, Cherry was finally living life on her own terms. Making friends and enjoying herself. Finally when misunderstandings with Denver seem to be resolved, ghosts from her past reemerge. And if there is one thing Cherry knows, it is exactly how dangerous those men could be.
Lucky for her, Denver and their friends are more than willing to step forward and help eradicate this threat.
Holding Strong is another sexy addition to Lori Foster's Ultimate series. Although I never did fully connect with Denver and Cherry, it was still fun to visit with characters from this and previous series. Plus, I am anxious to see more of the ongoing storylines. I really look forward to seeing where Ms Foster takes us next.
