Don't Tempt Me

Guthrie Brothers Series - Book #1

By Lori Foster

HQN - August 2016

Contemporary Romance

When Honor Brown moved into her new home, she didn't expect anything from anyone. Well, except for her best friend Lexie. Honor knew she could always count on Lexie, but she never wanted to be an imposition. Which was why her initial response to her new neighbor was negative. She had no intention of accepting his help. She knew that the house she had bought required work, and she would do it herself.

Jason Guthrie didn't know what to make of his new neighbor. He knew exactly what was going to be needed to fix up Honor's house, and he highly doubted Honor had the skillset to do it on her own. But as the days passed, he could see that she had determination and drive. He was also able to finagle her into accepting some help. Soon, he wanted to finagle even more, but Honor was nothing if not reserved. It would take all of his, his family's and their friends' efforts for Honor to lower her walls. Jason knew only then Honor could be his.

Don't Tempt Me is an entertaining romance from beginning to end. Although Honor loved her grandfather and Lexie, she had been disappointed by almost everyone else in her life. It was touching to watch Jason slowly breach Honor's defenses. Even better was seeing how his nephew Colt bonded with Honor. Another highlight was the secondary romance between Lexie and another neighbor, Sullivan Dean. At first glance, Lexie appears to be everything Sullivan would not want in a woman. But of course, appearances are often deceiving. Now, I just hope we don't have to wait long for the second story in this series.
