Paranormal Romance

Francesca Giovanni may love living in West Harbor where she worked from home as a therapist. What she didn’t love was her neighbor Ash Merit who always drove a noisy truck when he was in town. Usually he rented the house to Summer People, short timers who would bother her with questions she had answered multiple times already. Then there was the influx of witches, or rather the tourism of people visiting witchy sites. To each their own, but Frankie had explanations for each unexplained situation.

Ash had a gift, lost things found him, which was why he found himself at the rental he’d bought. A distant relative of his boss was missing, and his boss wanted her found. But Ash was learning there were multiple young women missing, and he knew his gift had him buy this house for a reason.

Together, Ash and Frankie would try to determine how all the recent activities in West Harbor might ultimately bring home these missing girls, and in the process find love.

The Magic We Made is an entertaining romance from beginning to end. Frankie’s skepticism is on full display from the moment her Summer People neighbor asks for help with a ghost thief. It was fun learning about the past interactions between Frankie and Ash and see them work towards a future together. It even started with a cat rescue which I appreciated. We do see what is happening with the young women through the story, and although it is hard to believe they don’t basically just walk away and save themselves, it is also an unfortunate reality of what is basically a cult.
