Sweet Fantasy Romance

Dulci Lutelyn may have gained the title as head of the Miners Guild upon her father's death, but even with her own skills and her mother's maneuverings at court, she was at risk of losing the position. A marriage would help secure her position, but she had no intention of marrying any of the men her mother presented. Instead, she felt the warrior who had worked with her father and helped protect travelers to the mines was the perfect man to enter a marriage of convenience with.

Kadan Asanji, Khan of the High Peak, agreed to the loveless marriage for several reasons. The seer had foretold he needed to remain khan for them to win the war. To remain khan, he needed a khanna, and he had recently lost his wife. Dulci was a strong intelligent woman who would be a suitable match. Marriages of convenience may not be something his people did, but it suited him.

Until it didn't. Dulci and Kadan may have known each other for years, but now they were husband and wife. As they navigate their new arrangement, and the more they learn about each other, the more they realize just how well suited they are for one another.

Lady of the Fire is a lovely romance between two individuals who discover that respect and friendship is lackluster when they can have so much more. I not only enjoyed their romance, but also learning about the skillset Dulci has and the resources she can bring to help push back and defeat their enemies. In particular, there is a new creature that was decidedly fascinating. Although Lady of the Fire stands on its own, each story in the Bonded Realms builds on the previous and I am very eager to see what happens next.
