Death Becomes Me

Paranormal Romance

Dying wasn't easy. Kendra found that out when she had met her unfortunate demise with a cherry tomato. Then, instead of facing judgment, she was faced with making a decision, become a fighter. She was giving the opportunity to become an immortal who fought evil, or, well, there really wasn't an or. The directive being posed as an offer was simply a courtesy. Kendra Nevins, former socialite and self-admitted spoiled snob was now a demon hunter.

There is no rest for a hunter, as Kendra was soon to learn. Her partner, Mr. Tall, Dark, and Scary, would certainly be the death of her, if she hadn't been an immortal. He put her on a regimented workout, but Kendra was determined to keep up with him, and maybe show him some surprises. Not that she wasn't being surprised herself. Her new body came with some unexpected weapons, and roaming the halls of her new home were others she wasn't quite comfortable with. Still, the greatest surprise for her was her gradual attraction to Nick, Mr. Tall, Dark and Sexy himself.

Death Becomes Me was an entertaining paranormal with a touch of chick-lit feel, but still fulfilling as a romance. Kendra had definitely changed since her death, and her insights, both pre-and post death were entertaining. It was her first person narrative that gives the chick-lit feel. However, Ms Adams also delivers Nick's point of view in third person which allows for a completeness to their romance. I enjoyed meeting some of the other characters, and would truly love to revisit them again.
