The Scandal Before Christmas by Elizabeth Essex

December 2014

I had the opportunity read the anthology Christmas Brides recently. With Christmas finally here, I wanted to share how much I enjoyed one of the stories in the anthology, The Scandal Before Christmas, just in case any of you are looking for a fun, romantic short Christmas romance.

Below is my review

The Scandal Before Christmas

Lieutenant Ian Worth was no longer a child his father could push around. With his father's unwelcome arrival, he learned of his brother's horrible accident. To prevent a forced marriage between himself and his brother's fiancee, Ian did the only thing he could think of.

Now he just needed to find a woman willing to quickly become a bride.

Anne Lesley's dream was finally coming true. Her father had found a man for her to marry. A man who would spend most of his time at sea, and she would have the quiet of her own home. What she never expected was that the man who had acted so rudely upon her arrival might just be a man she might miss with all her heart when he returned to the sea.

The Scandal Before Christmas told the beautiful evolution of two strangers totally opposite in character growing into a couple united in love. This is a lovely Christmas romance certain to be an annual re-read.

Included in Christmas Brides are: One Hot Scot by Suzanne Enoch, Once Upon a Highland Scandal by Alexandra Hawkins, The Scandal Before Christmas by Elizabeth Essex, and It Happened Under the Mistletoe by Valerie Bowman

Welcome

I truly enjoy sharing my love of reading. This site was started to allow me to share some of my favorite books. I hope that if you look around and find that you agree with some of my selections (see my reviews), that you will return and hopefully find new authors. I plan on having periodic "Recommended Reads" lists that will include books I recommend, as well as suggestions by visitors to this site. I will also keep you up-to-date on different upcoming events, special offers, etc.

As you look around, I'm still learning my way around HTML, etc. If you see any errors, typos, please e-mail me.

My Personal Disclaimer

Boy Meets Girl, They Fall in Love, and the two of them live Happily Ever After. This is the content for any book I believe is a true Romance Genre novel. The books that I recommend, or have reviews posted for will follow that format, unless I note otherwise. Granted we may know the outcome of a Romance Genre Novel, but it is the journey the characters take that is the reason we read these books. The Happily Ever After doesn't mean they're all vampires... Just means that the future is open to them, even if it is set 500 years in the past - we don't need to know their final chapter in life. At times I have have Recommend Reads by visitors to this site - I cannot guarantee that they meet my criteria for a Romance Genre Novel.
