The Promise Of Love

June 2011

The Promise of Love is the newest collaboration organized by NYT Bestselling Author Lori Foster. It is available from Berkley Sensation, and supports One Way Farm

I am always excited to read the annual benefit anthology organized by Lori Foster. They always include touching, romantic stories. This year's The Promise of Love was no exception. Listed below are each of the stories and the corresponding link for the review.

Lori Foster - Shelter From the Storm
Erin McCarthy - Take Me Home
Sylvia Day - Razor's Edge
Jamie Denton - Midnight Rendezvous
Kate Douglas - Dime Store Cowboy
Kathy Love - Life In the Past Lane

Gift of Love, from Berkley Sensation, was released last year. It was written to support The Conductive Learning Center - which, per Lori's website, "is a special school for children with spina bifida and cerebral palsy". The link to all of the review is avialable. (Please check out my reviews!)

Tails of Love, from Berkley Sensation, was released in 2009. It was written to support AAF - Animal Adoption Foundation - a no-kill animal shelter in Hamilton, Ohio. Several of the stories include rescued animals, but they all include at least one animal, and, of course, romance. The link to all of the review is avialable. (Please check out my reviews!)

The Power of Love, from Berkley Sensation, was released in 2008. It was written to support The Battered Women's Shelter of Cincinnati. This is quite an appropriate charity, as the stories focus on women overcoming various forms of abuse or neglect. I had the distinct pleasure of being able to read this anthology for review. (Please check out my reviews!)

At the Reader and Writer Get Together in Cincinnati, in addition to sharing a love of books, everyone participates in various fundraising efforts to support charities, including donated baskets. Since 2007, Lori has organized a book with a portion of the proceeds going to a charity. The first book was a cookbook with recipes turned in by authors and readers (myself included!). The title was The Write Ingredients and benefited the Troop Fund. The cookbook was published by Samhain Publishing as both print and an ebook.

Welcome

I truly enjoy sharing my love of reading. This site was started to allow me to share some of my favorite books. I hope that if you look around and find that you agree with some of my selections (see my reviews), that you will return and hopefully find new authors. I plan on having periodic "Recommended Reads" lists that will include books I recommend, as well as suggestions by visitors to this site. I will also keep you up-to-date on different upcoming events, special offers, etc.

As you look around, I'm still learning my way around HTML, etc. If you see any errors, typos, please e-mail me.

My Personal Disclaimer

Boy Meets Girl, They Fall in Love, and the two of them live Happily Ever After. This is the content for any book I believe is a true Romance Genre novel. The books that I recommend, or have reviews posted for will follow that format, unless I note otherwise. Granted we may know the outcome of a Romance Genre Novel, but it is the journey the characters take that is the reason we read these books. The Happily Ever After doesn't mean they're all vampires... Just means that the future is open to them, even if it is set 500 years in the past - we don't need to know their final chapter in life. At times I have have Recommend Reads by visitors to this site - I cannot guarantee that they meet my criteria for a Romance Genre Novel.
