Love Comes in Small Packages Anthology consists of two stories, each stands on its own, although they both involve animals. They are That Special Someone by Lori Foster and The Rancher's Unexpected Family by Maisey Yates.
Ellie Parks couldn't help her sister Melanie since she didn't want to help herself. Over and over again, she had been helpless against Melanie's addiction. She knew who to blame, Ty Porter, and by extension, his brother, Clark. Finally, Melanie and Ty had made a good decision. If not for themselves, then for the life they had brought into this world. They had given their daughter up for adoption, and had listed them as potential caretakers of the baby.
Now, Ellie and Clark were looking to sharing custody and adopting their niece. And that wasn't all they were sharing. Since they were both single, Ellie was renting, and Clark had a ranch with a large home, he invited her to move in. They were becoming an unlikely family and their animosity was shifting. They had both ignored their attraction to one another due to the complications Melanie and Ty had presented, but now they had to wonder if they could risk the life they were building for so much more.
The Rancher's Unexpected Family shows the heartache of watching a loved one battle addiction. Both Ellie and Clark have watched their respective siblings destroy their lives, but thankfully they chose to give their daughter a better life. I enjoyed watching Ellie and Clark create a family even before they acknowledged their attraction to one another.
