Berkley Sensation - June 2008

Contemporary Romance

Twelve authors coming together and providing short stories for an anthology. Twelve short stories of empowered women overcoming obstacles and finding success and love. The Power of Love is an anthology of twelve romances written by some of today's brightest stars in the romance genre showing that sometimes anything is possible, given the power of love.

It was a nightmare from Hannah Pruitt's past, but this time, Hannah was able to prevent the same tragic outcome. When Hannah saw the man throw the sack into the canal, she leapt to action. Literally. Determined to save whatever life was being carelessly discarded, she searched until she found it. Then she was saved herself.

Mitch Donovan's heart had broken when he'd told Hannah he loved her, then she left town and married someone else. Time may have passed, but seeing her almost drown brought forth all those feelings again. Hannah may try to avoid him, but Mitch was determined to find out why she had left him once before.

Hannah's Choice was a touching romance of a woman overcoming the fears of her past. Hannah has learned that she must make choices in her life, one being not to let the past dictate her future. She had wanted to see Mitch again, but his presence still worried her. He is big, and she knows that he can hurt her. I loved watching as Mitch gently, yet firmly, dealt with her fears head on, and refused to let the woman he loved leave him again.

Included in The Power of Love are: Sweet Dreams by Lori Foster, Unpredictable by Erin McCarthy, After Hours by Toni Blake, Last of the Red-Hot Mammas by Dianne Castell, Salesman of the Year by Karen Kelley, Dance the Fandango by Rosemary Laurey, The Girl Next Door by Janice Maynard, Chicken Soup for Annie by LuAnn McLane, No Angel by Lucy Monroe, Angel in the Alley by Patricia Sargeant, Hannah's Choice by Kay Stockham and The Mouse Who Roared by J. C. Wilder.
