Visions of Heat
Psy-Changeling Series - Book 2
By Nalini Singh
Berkley Sensation - March 2007
Paranormal Romance
As the best F-Psy, or foreseer, Faith NightStar, had lived in isolation, yet was constantly monitored. It was for her own protection, and any deviation could indicate severe mental breakdown. Lately, Faith had started foreseeing more than just business transactions, she had seen darkness, death, and murder. She knew that the truth would not come from those who watched her with constant vigilance. She needed to leave and find the one Psy who had left, Sascha Duncan.
Vaughn D'Angelo had been drawn to the compound and planned to learn its secrets when he found the source of his curiosity leaving its confines. Faith may claim to have an un-emotional interest in searching out Sascha and getting her answers, but Vaughn could sense a tide of emotions raging to break free. Little by little, caress by caress, Vaughn would see to it that Faith would learn to accept his touch, accept her feelings, and accept her fate to be the mate of a jaguar.
Visions of Heat and the world that Nalini Singh has created are simply phenomenal. I was drawn into the Psy-Changeling world immediately. I wanted to see Faith triumph over the confines that she had been bound to due to her abilities. I loved the passion that Vaughn felt for his mate, and could sense the tightly-bound control he exuded allowing her the necessary time to adjust. I'm more than curious to see what will come next in this series, plus I am looking forward to going back to read Slave of Sensation, the first book in this series. Since I had not read that book, I found Visions of Heat a little confusing with all the different Psy classifications, the Council, and the Changeling packs. Although you can read Visions of Heat on its own, I would recommend starting with the first book.
