The Renegade Hunter

Argeneau & Rogue Hunter Series - Book 12

By Lynsay Sands

Avon Books - October 2009

Vampire Romance

Once, Nicholas Argeneau had been a rogue hunter. After a tragic set of circumstances, Nicholas found himself accused of murder. He was a rogue. He was hunted. That didn't change that he was still a hunter. That was the only explanation he could come up with when he found himself outside the enforcers' new hideout. One wrong move and he would be captured and executed. When he saw the rogue enter the complex, he knew he would regret his decision.

Josephine Willan was fed up with the party. Guys kept showing up, stare at her and her sister Alex, then walk away. It didn't matter that their other sister Sam, and her boyfriend, Mortimer, were having this party. If she hadn't driven with Alex, she would leave immediately. Instead, she wandered outside, and found herself attacked. Then she was saved by Nicholas who afterwards was captured by Mortimer and the others. Everything was confusing. Nothing made sense, and she was determined to find out why.

As if things couldn't be more complicated, from the moment he saw her, Nicholas knew that Jo was his life mate. But circumstances had set him on a course that would keep him from her. He had to live life on the run, and that was not what he wanted for Jo. She deserved more. She deserved anyone other than him. If only he could stay away from her, maybe he would be able to stick with his plans.

The Renegade Hunter was a fun, fast-paced, thrilling addition to Lynsay Sands' Argeneau and Rogue Hunter series. I had been anxious for Nicholas's story since we met him. I was certain that this "rogue" wasn't as he appeared to be to the other hunters. Jo was the perfect heroine for Nicholas, determined to prove him innocent of the charges, and equally determined to fight to be his life mate. Of course, Nicholas proved himself the perfect hero. Not only as Jo's mate, but also in helping others, and fighting for justice, even while being hunted himself. There are so many more characters in this book that need to find life mates, and I am looking forward to those stories.
