Contemporary Romance

Dr. Ani Green had jilted her fiance at the alter. Then she'd agreed with her parents and left town to go to Turks and Caicos alone. She had left behind a mess, scorned Tyler, gifts to return, bills for a wedding cancelled. She knew she should have never waited until the last moment to realize marriage with Tyler was a mistake, but it would have been an even bigger mistake to actually go through with it. So she found herself on a plane alone, with a kind stranger who was also alone.

Dr. Adam Lowenstein's late wife had loved Turks and Caicos and wanted him to go. He didn't want to go. He just wanted to be an excellent doctor and get through life. He didn't need to meddle into the problems of the woman sitting beside him, but it was difficult to ignore someone in pain.

When it turned out they were at the same resort, they decided to spend time together. They found an easy camaraderie, but said goodbye at the end of the stay never expecting to see one another again.

Until ten months later when their respective jobs overlapped. As the head of the ER, he needed to ensure everyone kept to the strict rules to ensure the best care for all patients. As a local pediatrician, Ani rotated into the ER, and was surprised this grumpy, sour man was the same caring individual she had gotten to know on vacation. When Ani helped a teen mother who chooses to give up her rights to the baby she just delivered, Ani promised to make sure she goes to a good family. Soon, Ani realizes she wants to be that family, with Adam.

Take Me Home To You is almost a friends to enemies to friends again romance. Although never enemies, Ani feels as if she has seen the true Adam, the caring fun man she had previously met. She has no qualms at pushing him now to realize that he needs to live the life he has now, not just mourn the life he would have had with his wife. Although Ani is the jilter, it was good to see her regret waiting as she did, and that she did her best to fix the situation she had created by waiting so long. She needed to work through a lot of issues, also with her mother. She would see critique in anything her mother would say and it was nice to see her work through her own insecurities to see the love her mother had for her. Although part of a series, this book does stand on its own.
