Dead Certain
Short Story in The Morgue the Merrier Anthology

Paranormal Romance
It's Christmastime, and they've all settled in at the Sleigh Bells Inn in the Christmas themed town of Christmastown. What many don't know, is the history of the inn. Before it became the inn, there had been a fire, and one section of the inn used to be the town morgue. Now three couples come together during the holidays, with a little help of the resident ghosts.
Annette James returned to finish the paperwork on the sale of her childhood home. She thought it would be a quick uneventful stay. She never anticipated running into Jake Warren, the boy who had broken her heart, and never looked back. She also didn't expect her deceased parents to pop in needing her help.
Jake was thrilled to be able to run into Annette. He had regretted losing Annette, but was happy to finally be able to explain what had happened. Learning that there could be a chance for them to be together was the greatest gift of all.
Dead Certain was an enjoyable reunion story. Annette had realistic reservations about Jake, considering what she understood past events to be. I found Jake to be endearing since he still wanted Annette after all these years. Dead Certain is a short story in The Morgue the Merrier Anthology which includes 3 stories, plus a bonus. The other stories are Blue Suede Christmas by Karen Kelley, Holly in His Heart by Dianne Castell and the bonus story Thank You, Santa! by Karen Kelley.
