Never mind she hadn't received one in two years. Her immediate thoughts turn to John "Evan" Fairfax, Earl of Evansleigh. She had loved him from afar, but found herself overwhelmed in his presence. Now, she had to pull herself together, come out of her shell and be able to speak to him, and more important, woo him. She definitely needed the help of her two new friends.
Evan walked a tenuous line in life. He observed all the proper protocols, and attended just the right amount of events to meet his duties, without create expectations. He had friends, but no great friendships. At least until Sophie Wembley falls into his life. He enjoys the time they spend during the festival, a little too much. Soon, he starts craving those stolen moments. But regardless of his feelings, nothing can ever come of it.
The Earl I Adore is a sweet story of an even sweeter heroine who simply adores her hero, and a man who is trying to do the right thing. Which would only break her heart. I adore all the characters Erin Knightley has introduced in her Prelude to a Kiss series, and am exceptionally disappointed that there is only one story remaining. Hopefully, another series will spin-off from this one.
