Contemporary Romance

Jason Anders couldn't live in his hometown. The memories of his father beating him were bad enough, but having the townsfolk continually rave about how wonderful a man he'd been was dreadful. There had only been one shining memory in Skylark Springs, his girlfriend through school, the woman he loved, the love he had abandoned when he had returned to the military.

Callie Carraway would never forget the day he'd left. Without a word. She'd sat waiting for him, completely unaware that he was gone. Now he had returned, and claimed to love her still. He wanted her to leave her home and the aunt who had raised her and she now cared for - just to be with him.

The man who had abandoned her once before.

Worth the Risk is a touching romance of healing and forgiveness. Jason had tried to live with Callie, to ignore the memories, but he had been fighting a losing battle. He'd wanted Callie to leave with him, but she wouldn't. Leaving her had been the hardest thing he'd ever done, but he couldn't survive in Skylark Springs. It was difficult knowing what Jason had endured by a pillar of society, but he was a warrior - one who was now fighting for the love of his life. It is so easy to understand the pain these two individuals were in, and to root that they finally have their happily ever after.
