Love Comes in Small Packages Anthology consists of two stories, each stands on its own, although they both involve animals. They are That Special Someone by Lori Foster and The Rancher's Unexpected Family by Maisey Yates.
Laylee Fairchild was helping care for her sister and brother-in-law's dogs with their friend Knox Nial. But Knox was more than just a friend of the family, he was becoming a close friend to her as well. Knox is the first person she called when her sister was on her honeymoon and Laylee feared she might be pregnant. He was the capable, steady, level-headed person she knew she could rely on. Similar to her sister. Laylee was the wild child.
Knox didn't like the label Laylee gave herself. She was so much more than she thought she was. She was someone who cared for everything and everyone. Human and animal. And with the help of their friends, he was determined to help her see herself as the amazing individual she was.
That Special Someone was an enjoyable romance full of lively characters, two dogs and a rescued kitten. Laylee has her heart wide open for anyone who crosses her path. I enjoyed watching as she acclimated herself to her sister's friends and realize that she too was now one of them. It was touching to see them rescue the kitten knowing sadly this is not solely the product of an author's imagination. Knox is a hero who sees Laylee for everything she is and I loved watching them find their happily ever after together.
