Contemporary Romance

Army Captain Lois Lang. Nickname Superwoman. She was a lady of steel, literally now since the crash. With a prosthesis, that granted wasn't steel, but it was close enough considering being named after Clark Kent's girlfriends. It had only been natural that she'd get linked to Kendall Clark. He a specialist on the helicopters she flew, or had flown, mild mannered, and a name so similar to Superman himself.

Lois had liked him though, true geek that he was, and they'd become friends. He looked at her prosthetic with an engineer's eye, no pity in his gaze. But now, however, he was a piece of her soon to be past. She couldn't fly anymore, and was waiting to be discharged from the service. A future uncertain.

Kendall, however, seemed to have other ideas. Dinner together was a nice time out with a friend, but at a fancy restaurant? There was definitely more going on than Lois had ever before realized.

NSDQ is both an intense yet at times light hearted romance. I truly enjoyed the romance, and the fact that Kendall was a geek, when surrounded by all these military macho-men. I adored Kendall and his determination to prove to Lois exactly what she refused to face. The in depth descriptions of the helicopter flights, firefight and simulations did pull me from the story, but that is a personal preference not to read the more technical military romances.
